The old barn, whose owner was Manuel Vega

August 18, 1998, the Rural Hotel O Palleiro Do Pe Do Forno opens its doors and receives its first two guests.

I remember this day as a start of a new life and long and beautiful project.

It was an old barn, that we restaured during two years and we´ll continue to build..

I, Isabel, was born in Dijon (France) and History was, is one of my passion. In 1992, I met Javier Sanchez-Palencia, one of the most important archaeologist in the world, and his team.

And they told us a lot about their investigation in The Archaeological Area of Las Médulas, which were declared World Heritage in december 4, 1997.

A great discovery about part of the Roman Empire and its culture, amazing...

Thanks to the help of my parents, Mary and Luis, we began the adventure..: the building of The Rural Hotel O Palleiro Do Pe Do Forno ( the barn near the communal oven).

Step by step, the old barn changed into a little, humble,simple and warm Rural Hotel, where our Guests can enjoy their stay in the area of Las Médulas and El Bierzo.

It´s my main purpose. I really appreciate to share my house and experiences with persons of all the world. It´s really grateful.
